We want your children to succeed in school. Their future is important to us and we want to do our part to make sure that they're comfortable, healthy and ready to face whatever challenges they may encounter in school. Overall good health includes good oral health, and children who are healthy will do better in school than children who are not. Healthy Equals Happy What does bad oral health look like? Or, if you will, a sick mouth? Well, children who do not have regular cleanings or who do not brush and floss regularly will have a buildup of bacteria and plaque in their mouths. This gooey, sticky substance eats away at the enamel of the teeth and causes decay and dental cavities. If they're left untreated, these can become painful and uncomfortable and can even result in tooth loss and bone loss. If left untreated long enough, this bacterium can develop into gum disease and many other complications can arise from this. Imagine sitting at your desk trying to listen to your teacher teach something you've never heard about before, maybe today in math you're learning about fractions or division, but all you can focus on is how badly your mouth hurts. This is what it's like for a child with poor oral health trying to learn. It becomes a hindrance and they may wiggle around and try to distract themselves from the pain of a toothache which will cause them to miss out on a lesson. Children learn better when they're comfortable and healthy, therefore regular cleanings and checkups are a very important part of that process. If you're noticing that your child is struggling in school, keep in mind that in addition to checking for vision problems, hearing problems or other health problems, you can call us to check for dental problems as well. We're here to help your child shine! |
My daughter was a little nervous to have her dental work done but everyone in the office was super friendly and very reassuring and that helped her nervousness go away. Thanks for the excellent dental experience. ~ Lilyana G. Read More Testimonials |
