Do you have kids who tend to get nervous in new situations? They may also struggle to manage visits to our office. It can be really easy to tell when some kids are nervous, but really difficult to tell when others get nervous. If you are not quite sure, knowing some of the signs may help. We see this a lot with kids, and we understand that new situations are sometimes nerve wracking. Here are a few signs you may want to look for in case your child is getting a little anxious. Watch Out for Signs Your Child is Nervous of Dental VisitsChildren who tend to change the topic when you bring up the dentist may be a little nervous about coming in. The same goes for kids who put off telling you about things like tooth aches and bleeding gums. You should watch them brush when younger all the time, and regularly up into their elementary years. If all of a sudden, they start always brushing without you around, you may want to find out what is going on. If your child is trying to eat only softer foods or you see them wince when they eat, but they have not told you about a problem, this could point to dental anxiety as well. If you think your child is showing signs of dental anxiety, call us. We have lots of things that we can do to help them through that. It happens regularly to all kids, and we have helped children through it before. It is best that they hear not to be afraid from us, and it allows us to build rapport with them. Reach out to us today and let us make the visits to our office just a little easier on you both. |
My daughter was a little nervous to have her dental work done but everyone in the office was super friendly and very reassuring and that helped her nervousness go away. Thanks for the excellent dental experience. ~ Lilyana G. Read More Testimonials |
